Refund Policy

Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) values the trust our donors place in us. As donations are voluntary contributions used promptly toward our ongoing programmes, refunds are considered only under limited circumstances.

When Refunds May Be Considered

A refund may be considered only in the case of a genuinely erroneous transaction, such as:
  • A duplicate donation made in error
  • An incorrect donation amount entered due to a technical or manual error
  • A failed transaction where the amount was debited but not credited to BRLF's account

How to Request a Refund

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@brlf.in within 2 days of the date of donation.
  • The request must include proof of payment (such as a transaction ID, payment receipt, or bank/card statement extract) and a clear explanation of the error.
  • Requests received after this window, or without adequate supporting proof, may not be processed.
Refunds cannot be processed once a tax-exemption certificate (80G) has already been issued for the donation in question.

Conditions and Exceptions

  • Refunds, where approved, will be credited back to the original mode of payment used for the donation.
  • Processing time for approved refunds may vary depending on the payment gateway and banking partner, and BRLF will keep the donor informed of the expected timeline.
  • BRLF reserves the right to decline a refund request that does not meet the above criteria, at its sole discretion, while ensuring donors are given a clear reason for the decision.

Data Handling During Refunds

Any personal or payment data shared as part of a refund request will be used solely to verify and process that request, in accordance with our Data Protection Policy, and will not be retained for longer than necessary once the request is resolved.
