Overview

The BRLF Covid-19 Response introduced low input-cost, non-pesticide based agriculture practices, with a package of practices focused on crops better suited to local agro-ecology, such as millets and vegetables, to help tribal households recover from pandemic-related income shocks.

The response also worked to establish a profitable value chain system for Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) and Minor Forest Produce (MFP), strengthening an alternative income source for forest-dependent communities during a period of acute economic disruption.

Key Strategies

Introduce low input-cost, non-pesticide agriculture practices
Promote climate-suited crops such as millets and vegetables
