About the consultation

The Consultation on Women’s Agency and Leadership, organised by the Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF) together with partner CSOs Kalamandir, SUPPORT, Life Education and Development Support, and Tagore Society for Rural Development, brought together women leaders from across Jharkhand’s villages to speak, in their own words, about the leadership they have long carried in their homes, groups, gram sabhas, worksites and panchayats.
Titled ओना गे मरांग दाड़े, meaning “the most powerful energy”, the consultation was built on one belief: that women’s lived experience is itself a source of knowledge, and that leadership is a journey walked over years, not a position handed down.
Twenty women leaders anchored eight sessions across the day, with seven facilitators drawing out journeys spanning MGNREGA worksites, SHGs, panchayats and gram sabhas. CSO teams, BRLF and Ford Foundation were present throughout, there not to speak but to listen and learn.
