Overview

The Green Hub Central India (GHCI) project was initiated in 2021 for rural and tribal youth, initially across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand. By 2024, it had expanded to 8 states including West Bengal, Odisha, Maharashtra and Gujarat. Twenty-five youth are selected each year for a 10-month residential fellowship based in Bhopal, trained in video storytelling on environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

In its third year, Green Hub Central India has a network of 66 fellows representing 16 tribes from 48 districts, partnering with 36 organisations to produce more than 30 films on rural livelihoods, sustainable farming, wildlife conservation, gender justice and indigenous knowledge. The fellowship culminates in the Green Hub Festival, drawing 300-400 people a day over two days.
